You might have heard many beauty experts say that the best way to rejuvenate your skin is to let it heal when you are asleep. When you are sleeping, your body is relaxed and stress free, hence your skin heals faster. If you are in the habit of using a moisturizer at night, before going to bed, then you can use tamanu oil for added benefits. Add a few drops of tamanu oil into your night serum or moisturizer and apply it daily.

Before going to bed, wash your face with a face wash and pat it dry. Take the moisturizer and use your fingers to lightly dab it on your face. Using upper ward strokes and blend the cream onto your face; try not to be too harsh as you might end up with more cream on your hands then your face.

Get at least 8 hours of sleep at night and when you wake up in the morning, you will find your skin soft and supple. Tamanu oil helps in skin cell regeneration and the best way to gain its effect is to use it along with your moisturizer.

Control Your Acne with Tamanu Oil

Tamanu oil has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which makes it a great ingredient for controlling acne. The anti-inflammatory property of tamanu oil has made it one of the best natural products for treating skin conditions like acne and eczema. If all your expensive skin care products and so-called organic creams have failed to give you relief from acne, then try tamanu oil and see the difference for yourself.

If you are suffering from acne, you can use tamanu oil in combination with many other oils to get relief from acne. Take a bottle of tamanu oil and pour it in an empty lotion jar or glass jar. Add an equal quantity of melaleuca or lavender oil to the tamanu oil. Use this concoction once or twice a day, regularly. This mixture will help you get rid of acne faster than product ever has. If you are suffering from severe acne or have very sensitive pimples, then take a cotton pad or cotton ball to apply the oil on your face. Avoid using your hands as it might end up irritating your skin even more. Also, avoid rubbing the oil too hard onto your face as it may lead to breakout or pain. Just use your fingers lightly and spread the oil on your face.

However, since you have an acne prone skin, your face will be oilier than those who have normal to combination skin. Therefore, it’s important that you first wash your face with a mild moisturizer and pat it dry before applying the oil.

Tamanu oil has many healing properties and goes well with a lot of carrier oils, as you might have guessed from the recipes mentioned above. It has a non-greasy, non-oily texture that makes it wonderful for people who have naturally oily skin. On the other hand, for people with dry skin, this oil can be used to counter dryness and restore moisture. If you use any kind of oil, say olive oil or almond oil on your face, you can add in a few drops of tamanu oil to it. This will not only add to the benefits of the carrier oils but will also make your face glow from within.

Tamanu oil has been a subject of great discussion amongst dermatologists and skin specialists. It is known for its antimicrobial properties that make it one of the best products for treating acne and getting rid of ugly scars. What’s more, it has been found to be very effective in reducing pimples and healing your skin in no time at all.

Apart from these, tamanu oil is also great for removing stretch marks. You could get stretch marks when you lose a lot of weight or after pregnancy. You can reduce the marks by mixing equal portions of olive and tamanu oil. Use the mixture of oils to get rid of stretch marks.

However, if you don’t have the time to try out these recipes, then you can apply tamanu oil directly on your skin. You can also use a Q tip to dab the oil onto your pimples and scars if you don’t want to smother your face with oil. The same can be done for your lips too. But, whenever you are buying tamanu oil, ensure that you get the best quality one. Always check the label and only when you are satisfied that the oil is organic, buy it. It’s always great to go with the cold-pressed, unprocessed tamanu oil but if you can’t find that, a bottled version will also work wonders on your skin.
